- China Newsnetworks. Links to national newspapers, TV broadcasts, and various media from the major cities around China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, and others.

- Chinese National Tourist Association. Limited links to various travel agency tours make this site not especially useful for the average traveler. The Chinese version offers more links to city homepages as well.
- The Beijing Page. Comprehensive page dubbed as the Best Beijing Page, with everything from tourist diaries to Peking Opera to computer related dustry. Very useful for travelers, with much general information on restaurants, accommodations, special events, sights, and more -- even the Beijing Beer Hunter finds a place here.
- Beijing-China Government sponsored website with information on tourist attractions (with few specific practical information details such as hours, address, prices, etc.), daily civilian life, history, economy, government and politics, and the like. No information on accommodations, transportation, etc.

Customized, local home pages for visitors from the United States, Great Britain, France, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia, and other countries include travel tips on everything from airlines to hotels to short tours around the city, outlying islands, and New Territories. The Travel Planner section also showcases more specific attractions such as parks, museums, and shopping districts. Good overall presentation and huge amounts of information in English.
- Shanghai Panorama. Provides local news, yellow pages, the "Citywalk" maps/address locations and more. Also includes numerous links to other sites for entertainment, tourism, and more, although some of these are outdated or impossible to access.
- Shanghai Travel Vista. Comprehensive information on travel, tourist attractions like the Bund, and the Shanghai-ed entertainment and nightlife section. A bit less complicated and generally somewhat more reliable (linkwise, at least) than Shanghai Panorama.
