Southern Cross Club Little Cayman, Cayman Islands
|
If you think you've come to the Southern Cross Club just to lie in a hammock in front of one of the 11 cottages that sit on the sand, prepare yourselves. Although this former private club on Little Cayman, smallest and slowest-paced of the Cayman Islands, pampers you with what they call primitive luxury (two key elements of this philosophy are air-conditioning and an honor bar), their true mission seems to be to keep you as water-logged as possible. As well they should: Some of the world's best scuba diving, snorkeling, and light-tackle fishing are just offshore, and the club, with its own dive shop and fishing skiffs, can help introduce you to both. In between, you'll be beachcombing, sand strolling, nibbling on conch fritters during sunset cruises—or just lying in that hammock. Doubles from $1,690 for three nights, the minimum stay, including all meals, January through April; 800-899-2582 or southerncrossclub.com. |
