As a center of supply during the Revolutionary War, Connecticut would quickly become a center for trade and commerce. The state is largely unfettered by messy and noisy interstates but is known for charming small towns and such well known sites as fascinating Mystic Seaport. Hartford is the home town of Samuel Clements (Mark Twain). His house, now a museum, is in Hartford.

Geography: The state is bordered by New York State in the west, Long Island Sound to the south, Rhode Island in the east and Massachusetts in the north. The state is rocky and hilly. There are no major mountains. The shoreline has a number of very pleasant beaches.
Climate
Connecticut enjoys pleasantly warm summers especially along the coastal areas where New York Sound tempers the climate considerably. Moderately cold winters prevail throughout the state. There are few ski areas in the state. Both spring and fall are very pleasant and usually mild. Fall colors are very attractive. |
