There is very special about Iowa. It seems to be the very essence of small town America. The whole state has a friendly "home town" atmosphere that is warm and hospitable. Even the cities seem to be simply large small towns. So rural is Iowa that in many areas pigs outnumber people! Boyhood home of John Wayne and the filming site of "The Bridges of Madison County," Iowa has a number of interesting and fascinating sites to see and history to explore.
Climate
