The "Show Me State" has a lot going for it with a good climate, a varied landscape and a centralized location in the US. A great deal of tourism has focused on Branson in recent years but Missouri has much more to offer. Its history goes back to the original Indians and the French settlers who came with the Louisiana Purchase. Frontier times brought the Pony Express and Jesse James. The advent of the steamboat brought prosperity along the Mississippi River and the writings of Mark Twain. So much of Missouri's history is not only preserved but is still woven into the lives of everyone who lives here. Missouri is fascinating and well worth a visit.
