This beautiful state is perhaps one of the most historically oriented of the 50. In almost every town, village and city you can find scores or plaques or some other device noting some significance derived from the past. Indeed much has happened here as the Historic Triangle of Yorktown, Jamestown and Williamsburg attest. Civil War battlefields with well known names can be found within a short drive of almost any point in the state. Virginia is not just history, it is also remarkably scenic. One should not come to Virginian and miss the famed Shenandohah Valley, the Blue Ridge Parkway or Virginia's Eastern Shore. The entire state of Virginia is filled with lots of things to see and do and is well worth visiting for both long and short stays.
